My mother has done business with them for about a year. We have never had a problem with them! They are always friendly and know use by name! They have always help us when we needed them!
Do they just show up with an envelope. Then waited ten minutes outside then finally left. No clue who its for just has a name on it that I've never heard of. Kind of shady
While I have never had cause to actually do business with this company I feel the need to warn people. A friend of my son has a loan through them and yesterday two women showed up on my doorstep asking if the friend was here. My husband replied "no" and they proceeded to ask if they could leave an envelope here for the friend. My husband said "I guess". The plain envelope had only a name and "Important" written on it and was sealed with a piece of tape. I texted said friend and asked if they knew what it was. They said it was probably about their loan but had no idea how the company would have associated our address. Per their request, I opened the letter to find that it was indeed from Covington Credit and was an attempt to collect a debt. I called the number within the body of the letter and it was disconnected! How unprofessional! Is this a legitimate company? Curious, I called the number printed at the top of the letter and spoke with Michelle Patrick, listed as Branch Manager, and told her that the friend did not live here and that I would appreciate it if she & her company would refrain from darkening my door again. I also informed her that the number was disconnected & that provided a very poor reference for her company. She hung up! I called back and informed her how rude that was and that her & her company were in violation of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) because the letter was delivered to an address that didn't belong to the debtor and was not properly sealed or labeled as private. She disagreed and said that it was sealed (with tape!) and marked. I hope my son's friend takes legal action. Zero stars would be more appropriate!
